Foundation Gala to support emergency services

LUMBERTON – The UNC Health Southeastern Foundation’s 30th Annual A Night in Disguise Gala is scheduled for February 24 at the Southeastern North Carolina Agricultural Events Center in Lumberton.
Terri and Tito Massol will be this year’s Gala Chairmen.
“We are honored to lead this enduring event and to work with the 2023 Gala Committee to plan a night not to be forgotten in a hurry, while supporting critical improvements in our community’s life-saving emergency department,” said Tito Massol.
“The Massols embody fun and enthusiasm,” said Sissy Grantham, executive director of the Foundation. “With their help and a dedicated committee, we will be able to improve the design of the UNC Health Southeastern Emergency Department and make technological advances that will make operations more efficient, comfortable and safer for patients and staff.”
The evening’s entertainment will be provided by Liquid Pleasure presented by Lumber River United Way. The lounge tent is sponsored by Campbell University.
Now the preparations are underway.
The 30th Annual Grateful Giving Kickoff Gala was held on December 5th at the home of Jill and Coble D. Wilson Jr. 25 volunteers met at the Wilson home to discuss the issue, formulate a decorating plan, share goals and learn how the gala funds will support UNC Health Southeastern.
“A Night In Disguise will be a masquerade ball, so secure your gala sponsorships and start searching for the perfect mask,” said Terri Massol.
The Foundation credits the Gala’s long-term success to a supportive community, a talented Gala Committee and dedicated past Gala Chairs. The Gala celebrates the achievements of supporters of the UNC Health Southeastern Foundation and most importantly, ensures continued funding for the growth and development of quality healthcare provided by UNC Health Southeastern.
“The ER is an integral part of our hospital and community,” said Chris Ellington, President/CEO of UNC Health Southeastern. “Often serving as the first point of contact to our hospital, it is the most active and critical department with a constant flow of patients suffering from either acute illnesses or injuries. The Emergency Department treats more than 60,000 patients annually and is critical to our overall care in the region.”
This year’s gala will feature gift-giving opportunities through a silent auction and a head-or-tail raffle.
A variety of sponsorship opportunities are available for the black tie event, including major sponsorship. Additional sponsorship opportunities will be available online on January 9th. For this 30th Anniversary Celebration each guest will be allocated a specific seat, however space will be limited.
