Rickey Smiley Returns To Morning Show After Son Brandon Dies

AAfter taking two days off, Rickey Smiley returned to host his show on Wednesday and took a moment during his Rickey is unleashed segment to offer his gratitude to God and to every single person who called him or sent him a message about the tragic news of the death of his son Brandon Smiley, which Rickey shared with the world on Sunday.

He expressed his current condition, the difficulties in processing and all the wonderful memories he cherishes, especially the 6-13 year old days.

After sharing some of those memories and thanking certain individuals and his brotherhood, he shared a final message with anyone who might want to do anything for him: get out and serve.

He said he will lead by example from Thursday.

“Tomorrow I will be serving the homeless with the Salvation Army. And if you want to do something for me. i don’t need flowers Go and donate to the Salvation Army. Let’s stock these pantries, just because my son died I want to make sure someone is able to eat. Someone can get a hot meal. I’ll put on an apron tomorrow. And I will serve. Through my pain and still serving God because it’s not about me. This is about God and doing God’s work and doing His ministry. So I thank you and I thank you God for my life and I just appreciate the opportunity to speak from my heart this morning.”

Rickey’s message for those who want to do something

“And I just want to say thank you and I just want to take the time to thank you, Father of God. God, our real daddy. You wanted him to be with you. I’m sure you could do a much better job than me. You even created me and my grandfather. And so this morning I’m just grateful and grateful and I’m grateful. That’s why I’m here. I’m on the radio this morning because there were other people at the funeral home yesterday. You hear me. Other people were at the funeral home yesterday with clothes on to bury loved ones, not just me.”

“And I want you to pray for all families. You have a loved one to bury this weekend. Godd bless you. Thank you and glory to God. What a wonderful loving God we serve and I stand proud and on the rock of God this morning. I thank him for my life, the good, the bad, the storms and I thank you for the rain. Thank you for the ugly, thank you for everything. I don’t care how bad it gets, I will never curse God…”

“So I thank you and I thank you God for my life and I just appreciate the opportunity to speak from my heart this morning.”
