Harrow Borough: Match Report – FC Halifax Town
Halifax Town FC advanced to the fifth round of the FA Trophy after a 2-2 draw at Harrow Borough on penalties.
Town had the ball in the net first but was disallowed. Golden’s free-kick was lashed out from the left and Festus Arthur tucked it away, but the referees blew the whistle for City’s celebrations.
The Shaymen took the lead just minutes before the break. A quick throw from Jack Senior found Harvey Gilmour in the box and Town’s number 20 hooked a cross in for Harker. Harrow was able to keep a clear head but the follow-up clearance found Harker only in the box and the striker fired the ball deep into the bottom left corner.
Harrow pulled back to equalize after 66 minutes with an incredible free-kick. Arthur gave away a free kick from 40 yards after a foul on Billy Leonard. Moore hit him and he flew past Johnson to the top right corner.
With less than 10 minutes to go, Town had the ball back in the net. Gilmour played a great corner at the back post but the referee awarded a free kick when Arthur went home.
Town managed to regain the lead with less than five minutes to go. Golden was fouled 40 yards away and Gilmour slid a great pass from the free kick to Harker, who bagged his second of the night.
Deep into stoppage time, the hosts were back on level. Harrow won a corner which Gilmour headed clear, but the clearance fell to Moore, who scored a shot from the post to make it 2-2 and his second of the evening.
Harker, Dieseurvwe, Milli Alli, Clarke, Stott and Keane scored from the point as Town won 5-6 on penalties.
Maidenhead United await Town in the next round of the FA Trophy on Saturday 11th Juneth February.
Town will travel to Oldham Athletic on Saturday in the Vanarama National League at 3pm
