Happy Halloween everyone. This weekend we’ll be hosting all of our community’s little ghosts and goblins. It’s always a treat to see the disguised families going door to door with their little ones collecting candy and other sugary treats. It reminds me of the fun my sisters and brothers had years ago.

The Silver Threads Seniors Club has started a foot clinic and the dates are: October 27th, November 10th, November 24th, December 8th and December 22nd. The time is 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and the sessions last approximately 30 minutes. The cost is $20 per session and if you may not be able to afford that amount you can make a donation. Please call the office to make an appointment and this clinic is open to all.
We launched some new games Thursday at 1pm, Mexican train dominoes and cribbage are now available to seniors who love to get together and join in some gaming fun. The wonderful bridge game is played on Mondays at 1:00 p.m. Refreshments will be served and you are welcome to bring a snack or treat to share with the other players.

Fab Fitness is held every Monday and Wednesday at 10am in the upstairs hall and Essentrics is shown on the big screen downstairs on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 9:30am.
We have activities for everyone over 50 in our community including Swedish weaving, art, fitness, gym, bingo, Euchre, Euchre, yoga, quilting, book club and dinners/dances.
We have free Wi-Fi and our two-story brick building is regularly inspected according to our city’s fire and sanitary regulations. The building is up to date with accessibility with an elevator, automatic doors, plenty of secure parking and exterior lighting and we offer seniors a safe place to stay and have fun.
As well as our many activities, we sell individually frozen appetizers and desserts which are especially good for single people. All you have to do is put them in the microwave and they’re ready to eat. We sell tickets to a beautiful quilt donated by the quilters and tickets are available at the office.
Tickets for the Christmas dinner and dance are on sale and only 100 tickets will be sold this year. The cost is $25 for members and $30 for non-members. Schmidt’s will provide dinner and Landry and Madill will provide the music. Come out and enjoy some good old rock n roll. There is a door prize, a 50/50 drawing, a raffle and individual prizes.
