Richmond Hill, ON. Today, the automotive magazine AutoGuide announced the BMW i4 as the winner of the “Car of the Year Award 2023”. The AutoGuide Car of the Year category is open to cars with all powertrains. A win in this category for the all-electric BMW i4 not only signifies a growing trend towards electromobility, but also illustrates the quality and breadth of the i4 product range. The BMW i4 is available in three variants; the eDrive35, eDrive40 and the M50 xDrive and has a base MSRP of CAD 54,990. Depending on the selected variant and equipment, the i4 offers a purely electric range of between 365 and 484 km.
AutoGuide’s team of journalists evaluated their 20 finalist vehicles on a number of attributes, including value, ease of use, space, safety and desirability. “The i4 represents the perfect gateway for an enthusiast reluctant to own electric cars,” said contributing author Jeff Wilson. “Whether it’s the single-motor eDrive40 or the lightning-fast M50, the i4 is a genuinely fun car and exactly what enthusiasts in this segment have come to expect from BMW.”
The i4 combines the functionality and spaciousness of the Gran Coupé design with the spontaneous power delivery of BMW’s latest 5th generation eDrive, which can also be found in the BMW iX Sport Activity Vehicle. Best-in-class driving dynamics and long-distance comfort, elegant design, uncompromising workmanship, state-of-the-art user-vehicle interface and advanced infotainment and driver assistance technologies combine to create an emission-free BMW that deserves the nickname “Ultimate Driving Machine”.
Sustainability was an integral part of the development of the new BMW i4, from material sourcing to the production of the i4 itself and the future recycling of its components. Every step of the value chain has been carefully considered to reduce the i4’s carbon footprint to the absolute lowest possible level.
The BMW i4 has been available from Canadian BMW dealerships since March 2022.
