Chelsea wantaway offered escape route after PSG move ignited, with rogue move being assessed

Hakim Ziyech could still reportedly land a winter move from Chelsea after his proposed Paris Saint-Germain move went up in flames as Besiktas considers a transfer.

Ziyech hasn’t been too close to the top of the pecking order at Chelsea this season. In fact, he has played 10 Premier League games and only started four of them.

That was before the additions of attacking players Joao Felix, Noni Madueke and Mykhaylo Mudryk.

It’s not difficult to calculate that some attacking players will now have fewer opportunities. And for a player who didn’t play all that regularly to begin with, Ziyech is in danger of being frozen.

Therefore, in the latter stages of the January window, an exit seemed like a smart idea. A few clubs including Interest was credited to Roma and Newcastle Unitedaccording to insider Fabrizio Romano.

However, PSG stormed into the lead late on and looked like they were about to complete the trap. There were no objections from Chelsea and a move seemed all but certain.

But it didn’t quite go that way. In fact, it was reported that the Blues hadn’t turned in the paperwork on time, and with Ziyech already in Paris, the deal was off. to the dismay of the Ligue 1 giants.

Given the reports that Ziyech was actively trying to secure a move, he won’t be too pleased to have been effectively stranded in Paris without belonging to a new club.

He’s unlikely to want to stay at Chelsea but options are slim now that most European leagues’ windows have now closed.

For some countries, including Turkey, transfers are still possible. what’s more Gökmen Özcan reports Besiktas was ‘recommended’ to Ziyech and is now making ‘a cost estimate’.

While a move to the Turkey side would not have been his first choice, it would give Ziyech valuable playing time away from Chelsea.

If they made an offer, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he jumped on it. Moreover, it wouldn’t be the first time Besiktas have welcomed a Premier League contender into their ranks.
