Jay Leno’s Joke About His Recent Motorcycle Crash with Jeremy Renner’s Snowplow Gets Mixed Reactions

Jay Leno is back on Twitter after his recent motorcycle accident and his first tweet has met with mixed reactions.
On Friday, Leno, 72, shared a one-liner about his accident – which left him with a broken collarbone, two cracked ribs and two fractured kneecaps – and referenced Jeremy Renner less than a month after the Marvel star’s own closeness – Fatal snow plow accident.

“I was riding my motorcycle in Lake Tahoe and I came around the corner and bam I crashed into Jeremy Renner’s snow plow,” Leno shared with his followers.
While some called Leno”the funniest‘ and responded with a handful of laughing emojis, while others expressed concern over the tweet, which mentioned Renner, 52.
“Not funny,” wrote Twitter User Josh Dawson. “Renner broke 30 bones saving his nephew’s life. Respect the guy. Clean guts.”
“I’m glad he’s doing well but my god the bar stays low,” another divided.
Among those defending Leno’s tweet, one user apologized for Leno have fun about his own situation and wrote that he thought Renner would find the joke in the joke. “Firstly, Jay was in a real accident, speedy recovery sir,” he wrote. “[Second] If we don’t bring ease to life, then life just becomes a raging journey. [Third], someone asks Jeremy what he thinks of the joke? I’m sure he would smile at Jay Leno.”

It’s not uncommon for Leno to poke fun at his own well-being, as he did just two weeks after being badly burned in a fuel fire in November Tonight show Host made himself the punch line.
“I never saw myself as a toasted comedian,” Leno joked to reporters upon arriving at California’s Comedy and Magic Club. “We have two shows tonight – regular and extra crispy.”
But the new tweet marks Leno’s first punchline about his motorcycle accident, as well as the first he’s made about Marvel star Renner.
Leno spoke in an interview with about the motorcycle accident Las Vegas Review Journal, when explaining that he was “knocked out” by his motorcycle on January 17, and then described the extent of his injuries. “But I am fine!” he added. “I’m fine, I’m working. I’m working this weekend.”

Renner, on the other hand, is still recovering after breaking more than 30 bones during his New Year’s snowplow accident. A recent report obtained by CNN from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office shows that Renner used the machine to help move his adult nephew’s truck from a driveway after significant snow fell in the area.
At that time, the snow groomer snow groomer started to slide when Renner got out of the vehicle “without pulling the emergency brake”. As it descended a hill, Renner noticed it was heading straight for it [his nephew]”, says the report, and he “feared that the PistenBully would hit [his nephew]so he decided to try to stop or divert the PistenBully avenger star then re-entered the snowplow cab by climbing onto the moving track when, according to the report, he was “pulled under the left side track.”
Renner has since shared updates on his progress and said he’s grateful for the support he’s received. Last week he shared a post on Instagram of himself in a bed apparently receiving physical therapy, writing, “Morning workout resolutions have all changed this particular new year…. Emerged from tragedy for my entire family and quickly focused into the union of actionable love ❤️.”
“Much love and appreciation to you all,” Renner wrote. “Those 30+ broken bones will heal, grow stronger, as will the love and bond with family and friends. Love and blessings to you all 🙏❤️🙏.”
